New Studio Space!!

Today is my first official day in my own studio space!! I officially have my own space where I can escape to and do my own work! Well at least this will be a 2D studio, which just feels so amazing. I guess I would have to say that at this point in time I now feel as though I am a real person. It has taken over a year since I graduated to feel accomplished or significant in comparison to all my friends with a desk or company jobs, but I am finally moving towards what I really want to do!!

So on this gray memorial day here in San Fran I am enjoying the my new space!

Currently I am trying to create a New Haven themed drawing/painting for the front of pamphlet for a CF benefit that will be happening in New Haven in early June. I was so honored that asked me to do it, since they wanted it to be something that those who came wouldn't just throw out and created by a CFer (when I lived in Connecticut, I went to Yale for all my CF needs)... So I have been rearranging images on photoshop to brain storm and now I am working away on the drawing! Happy Memorial Day!!!

Not much in the space yet.... ha but give me a few days...

Animals

Last summer after graduating I was gifted a ceramics class called Animal Form taught by Russell Wrankle at Anderson Ranch in Snowmass, Colorado. I decided to take the class because I love ceramics but was unable to take more class during school. Also I decided to take this class over a regular throwing of pots because I love animals and find them to have the greatest expressions, very similar to humans in the craziest way!! I throughly enjoyed the class, however deep down I was still thinking, "oh this is just a fun class I'll go back to drawing afterwards though" (which of course I still have). But once I got home and the whole experience and class sunk in I realized I wanted to do more ceramics. And once I my family saw them all they were actually shocked that I produced these ceramic animals, since I have always been a 2D person. I feel very comfortable with the clay, it is very therapeutic for me, which honestly help with my life stressors as well as CF stressors and thus far I have gotten pretty good feed back...

So I recently took up another ceramics class this is what I have made so far...

In comparison to my past work...

.... all a work is a work in progress!!

Hello World

Well here I am starting a blog... I hope to keep you all updated on my art work, as well as how I go about weaving my way through different kinds of art and life experiences. To begin my relationship with unknown humans in the cyber world, I would like to send you the link to my website to give you an idea of my past art work. The basis of all my work consists of three things, character, motion and color.

1. There is always some kind of characture of the subject, whether it be a person, animal or item. I find everything to be living or have some goofiness or emotion that comes with it, because in the end it makes life more fun and interesting.

2. whatever medium I work in, I work pretty fast so you can see my mark, it is very expressive style. I am not extremely detail oriented when it comes to art, so the motions and emotions of the pieces are very visible.

3. I LOVE color, color is so amazing it gives life to objects, people and ART, although art can have a life and be extremely meaningful and goofy in Black and White. But color to is more appealing to my eye.
